Podcasts for Concept Artists.
Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 01:45PM Sometimes being a freelancer has it's down side, I don't get much of a chance to see the outside world... For day's at at time I feel like I have not spoken to anyone.. It helps to have a few podcasts handy to keep from feeling like a hermit. ..of course, now I never have to leave the house.
Definitely Check out Joe Rogan. A highly creative, funny yet casual podcast. Topics ranging from altered states, to comedy, to raising pitbulls.
The Smodcast network is very cool. I personally listen to Jay Mohr. He's funny and shares a lot of personal insights of the industry, family and being an actor/comic.
Marc Maron's podcast is great. The guests are awesome. His is down tempo and unafraid to show his somewhat manic side.
Quite possibly the king of all podcasts This American Life.. If you don't know about it, I am very happy for you, because now you do. Stories ranging from gut wrenching, to uncontrollably funny.. A must listen!!
This next one is kinda nutty.. It's run by Ant from the Opie and Anthony show.. It's extremely casual, and is more like a party on the air. Sometimes there are guests, sometimes it's just a late night login for a couple of beers. You might find it entertaining if you like to drink alone... Check out Live from the compound.
Load up your iPod, and enjoy. The days of sitting around waiting to hear something entertaining are over.. We are no longer tethered to AM, FM, Satellite, or any other media that stuffs 20 minutes of content into half an hour =).
Cheers,
Rob
